Add a feature to save JQL Template as a Named Template for re-use in other projects

Add functionality to the Project Configuration page that allows users to save their current JQL Template as a named reusable template. This feature will enable admins to create a library of templates that can be applied across multiple projects.

Template Selection Adjustment

When selecting a named template to apply, any currently active template for that project is automatically excluded from the dropdown list. This adjustment helps ensure that only templates not already applied to the project are available for selection.

Preview Issue Key Field Suggestions

The preview issue key field now provides intelligent suggestions based on your recently viewed issues. This enhancement allows you to quickly access and select relevant issues without manually searching or typing long references. As you type in the issue key field, a dropdown list of your most recently interacted-with issues will appear, making the navigation and selection process much more efficient.

Named Template Usage Section in Global Config Page

The Global Config Page now includes a section dedicated to the management of named templates. You can view a list of all available named templates and their current usage statuses directly from this page, offering greater visibility into how templates are applied across your configuration. This enhancement streamlines the process of managing templates by providing centralized access to template names and their deployment states.

Change Detection for JQL Editor Logical Button Actions

The JQL editor now includes change detection to handle logical button actions more intuitively. When you type in the JQL editor, the update distribution query will activate upon detecting any changes, ensuring real-time feedback without needing manual refreshes. This enhancement facilitates a seamless editing experience, automatically syncing your changes with the distribution query, so you're always working with the latest data.

Modal Dialogs for Button Actions

Modal dialogs are now implemented for each button action throughout the application, providing a clear description of the impact of the selected action. Before proceeding, you will be prompted with a confirmation to ensure intentional interaction or the option to cancel if needed. This feature enhances clarity and control over key actions, as you will receive immediate feedback on the potential effects of your choices.

Button Behavior for Templates

You can now seamlessly manage loaded named and custom templates from within the button behavior settings. Enjoy the ability to save changes, rename existing templates, and update the logic of your templates directly. This enhancement streamlines your interaction by allowing all template modifications to be handled through a single interface without navigating away.

Add banners showing the selected and loaded templates

Banners have been integrated into the template management interface to provide clear and immediate feedback on the state of your selected and loaded templates. When you select a template, a banner now appears at the top of the screen, indicating which template is currently active. Additionally, after a template is successfully loaded, another banner confirms the successful action, reducing any ambiguity about the template's status. This visual cue ensures you always know which template you are working with, enhancing the overall user experience.

Load Template Feature

The Load Template feature introduces the ability to pre-define and apply task structures across similar projects. You can now save a project as a template, including all its associated tasks, settings, and assignments. This template can be reused for future projects, ensuring consistency and saving time during setup. Simply select "Load Template" when creating a new project to begin with a pre-configured framework tailored to your workflow needs.

Template Usage Badge

Discover the reach of your project templates with the new template usage badge, now visible on each of your created templates. This badge provides instant feedback on how many other projects are currently utilizing your template, offering insights into its popularity and application across the platform. To view the template usage badge, simply navigate to your template library and select any template.
